Oscar winning actress Lupita N'yongo and Golden Globe nominee David Oyelowo are set to star in Mira Nair's on screen adaption of the bestselling book The Queen Of Katwe. A story about young African chess prodigy Phiona Mutesi and her relationship with her coach.
N'yongo is set to play Harriet Mutesi, phiona's mother while Oyelowo will be playing the coach of the prodigy.
I thought that N'yongo was going to play the prodigy instead, but it's exciting to see what new comer will get this great role. It will be nice to see a new young African American actress around Hollywood.
N'yongo and Oyelowo will also be staring together in the on screen adaption Americanah a novel by
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
